Adriana Burkins

Adriana Burkins is the Education Manager for the Lewis Latimer House where she oversees the museum's educational offerings. Adriana has worked in museum education for nearly ten years in various museums including the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York City, where she also co-curated an exhibition. She received her MA in Art History at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her BA at Meredith College. In her spare time, Adriana enjoys working with stained glass, ceramics, embroidery, and printmaking.

As Lewis Latimer House’s Communications Manager, Edgie oversees the museum’s marketing across web, social, email, and print channels. Edgie received her MA in Arts Politics from New York University, and her individualized BA in Activism through Art and Media from The New School. Edgie is also a visual artist and writer, and enjoys using her creativity to reach, engage and empower the Lewis Latimer House’s community.
Stephanie Dinsae

In May 2023, Stephanie Dinsae became Lewis Latimer House’s first Development Associate. With a Master’s in Creative Writing and Literary Translation, Stephanie has brought her creative insight and passion for language to the world of grant-writing and donor development. Drawn to the story of Lewis Latimer, Stephanie is grateful for the opportunity to help keep his legacy afloat.

For the past decade, Ran Yan has been dedicated to engaging audiences through inclusive programs inspired by the legacy of Black inventor and humanist Lewis H. Latimer. In the first three years of her tenure as ED, Ran more than doubled the museum's attendance and budget. She builds partnerships with community stakeholders in Flushing, Queens, across New York City and beyond. Before moving to New York City, Ran studied architecture and preservation at Tongji University in Shanghai, and completed her Master’s Degree in Historic Preservation Planning at Cornell University. She is a Beijing native and calls New York City her home.

Shane is deeply invested in uplifting the importance of STEAM education and community science. After receiving an undergraduate degree in Astronomy and Space Sciences & Education, Shane pursued a Doctor’s Degree in Teaching & Curriculum Studies. Shane is an experienced educator, having taught science for nearly 10 years in NYC public schools, and has extensive experience in theater as well. He is enthusiastic about preserving the legacy of Lewis Latimer and his family and their contributions to the fields of technology, engineering, social justice, art, and literature.
