S.T.E.A.M Saturday - A Labor of Love: Sharing Our Stories

  • Lewis Latimer House Museum 34-41 137th Street Queens, NY, 11354 United States (map)

How might you tell your family’s story using patterns and fabric?

Family quilts have been used for centuries as a way to keep families warm, to celebrate events, and to pass on traditions and knowledge. Join educators from the Lewis Latimer House Museum to experiment with colors, symbols, and shapes to design a mini family quilt, and learn about Dr. Winifred Norman, the granddaughter of the Black inventor and innovator, Lewis Latimer, who kept his legacy alive.
