We will celebrate Lewis Latimer's contributions to American life–as an inventor, artist, and creative writer. Latimer (1848-1928) made significant advancements in developing the telephone and electric lighting and worked alongside some of the most celebrated scientific inventors, including Thomas Edison, Hiram Maxim, and Alexander Graham Bell. His work was instrumental in shaping our modern world.
