Latimer’s Legacy Contests
Lewis Latimer was an African-American inventor, poet, and artist. Join us in commemorating 175 years since Lewis Latimer’s birth with a contest for students in K-12! Winners in each category will win exciting prizes including $175 gift cards, Steph Curry’s “Black History Month edition” Lewis Latimer sneakers, Scholastic books, and a class field trip to the new permanent exhibition at Lewis Latimer House Museum, opening this spring! Grades K-5 Invention Contest
Send a drawing of your invention to info@lewislatimerhouse.org with the subject line: Latimer's Legacy Invention Contest. You may print and use this worksheet if desired.
Include the name of your invention , a brief description of what it does and how it would help people, your full name, grade, and name of your school in the body of the email.
