Join us to wrap up the Spring writing workshop series with an open mic event.
*Please RSVP to receive instructions on joining the virtual event.
Join the Lewis Latimer House Museum and Newtown Literary for an culminating open mic event to wrap up our 2020 spring Writing on Race and Immigration series.
We welcome all who have attended any of our workshops to sign up to read work that was generated in or inspired by either: Meher Manda’s “Mapping Your Home in Poetry” class, Stephanie Jimenez’s “Getting to Know Your Characters” class, or Trace DePass’s “Boundless Devotion for Home & Self” class.
The first 10 to register as speakers will be able to share no more than 5 minutes of their prose or poetry on June 20th. Others may sign up for a waitlist to share work if there is time during the Open Mic.
Not interested in sharing, but would like to support your peers and enjoy the work of some of the most creative folks in Queens? You’ll be able to register as an attendee, and receive instructions on how to join the virtual event closer to the date.
The Literature Series “Writing on Race & Immigration” at Lewis Latimer House Museum is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council. This workshop is produced in partnership with Newtown Literary.
