Free Screening – Abacus: Small Enough to Jail

This 2016 documentary tells the incredible saga of the Chinese immigrant Sung family, owners of Abacus Federal Savings of Chinatown, New York, the only company criminally indicted in the wake of the United States’ 2008 mortgage crisis.

The 2019 Race and Immigration Film Series is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
