Electronic music artist and technologist Claire Marie Lim (a.k.a. dolltr!ck) will host a listening party at the Landmarked Lewis Latimer House Museum to preview her new work Colors of Us, an album of new music created with female-identifying youth of Asian descent in Queens.
Inspired by the emotions and experiences of young Asian and Asian-American people with ties to the Queens borough, Colors of Us offers insight into the creativity of youth in the community, and sheds light on the unique realities that they live as individuals between multiple cultures. Free and open to the public upon registration, the session will run for approximately one hour, featuring discussions about the album’s conception and the project’s genesis. A reception with light refreshments will follow.
The music from Colors of Us will have its official World Premiere as a live electronic music show on Sunday, September 15th 2019 at the Queens Botanical Garden, which will be the culminating presentation of Lim’s work as the Queens Council on the Arts’s Artist Commissioning Program 2018-2019 awardee for music composition.
This event is organized in partnership with Queens Council on the Arts.
